The TV Studio was exciting! I enjoyed being able to learn almost every job. I will discuss 6 jobs I did while in the TV studio. My first job was at Computer Graphics. The CG Monitor records the production. My job was to press the red button and say "recording" as the director instructed. I didn't enjoy this job much because there was only one button to press. After pressing the record button I sat and watched. I prefer to have a more active role although recording the production is important. My second job was as the floor director. As floor director, I constructed everyone in the tv studio under the direction of the director from the control room. I conducted soundchecks, monitored all cameras and cued talents under the director's instruction. I enjoyed being the floor director because I enjoying being in control and guiding everyone. My third job was on Camera 3. Camera 3 is pointed toward Talents 1 and 2. I had to focus the shot, center the camera at the right angle and monitor the teleprompter. I didn't enjoy this job much because it was frustrating to keep the black curtain out the way and there wasn't much to do after fixing the shot. My fourth job was as Talent 2. As Talent 2, I had to read from the teleprompter. This was extremely fun because I loved reading off the teleprompter and being on camera. It was easy to follow along the script, but I often forgot to smile and sometimes had an unpleasant facial expression. My fifth job was at the Teleprompter. I had to control the speed of the teleprompter for all 3 talents. This job was difficult and did not enjoy it. I had to keep to arrow on track however every talent spoke at a different speed. My sixth and final job was director which was fun. I got to monitor all the actions by cueing aja, listening to audio, watching camera shots, cueing talents and monitoring all other jobs. This job was fun because I was able to give commands and be in charge! Look below to see an awesome slideshow of my experience!
